Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

K1 Kindergarten

Our K1 Classroom
Our school has six classrooms, spread across the first and second floors. The K1 class is located in Room 103 on the first floor.

The K1 classroom is mainly yellow in tone and measures over 500 square feet. It is spacious, bright, and well-ventilated. Rain or shine, our children can always see and feel the real world — including views of the sky (we recommend showing photos of children enjoying activities in the corridor under the open sky).

A Day in Our K1 Class
Playground, Physical Activity Room, English Lessons
Physical activity is scheduled daily. Both our covered playground and indoor activity room are used by all students every day. Compared to other K1 classes in Kowloon City, our students have more freedom to move about, supporting both physical and mental development.

Daily exposure to Putonghua
Students attend English lessons with a native English-speaking teacher three days a week. Since the 2021–22 academic year, a local English teacher also co-teaches English classes.

Join Our K1 Class
Applications for K1 are accepted year-round, either via paper form or through our online application system. Interviews are generally scheduled for early November. Parents are welcome to book a school tour.

Useful Information for K1 Admission
How many K1 places are available in Kowloon City?
The EDB does not currently publish statistics on K1 vacancies. Kindergarten enrolment depends on the capacity of classrooms approved by the Department of Health. This applies to all kindergartens — whether private or under the Kindergarten Education Scheme. To learn more about K1 vacancies in Ho Man Tin, Lung Tong, Hung Hom, and To Kwa Wan, refer to the Kindergarten and Kindergarten-cum-Child Care Centre Profile. The “Total Approved Classroom Capacity in Use” section gives an overview of each school’s intake, including K1 figures.

Can a child living in Kowloon City apply to To Kwa Wan K1?
Yes. While proximity is a factor in kindergarten admissions, the EDB does not impose restrictions. Admission is at the school’s discretion, so children living outside To Kwa Wan may still apply.

When are the interviews and result announcements?
According to the EDB’s K1 Admission Arrangements for the 2022–23 academic year, schools may not conduct interviews before November. Therefore, most kindergartens begin interviews in early November, with results announced by 17 December. Parents must register between 6–8 January.
(Parents must apply for a “Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission” between September and November. Details: EDB K1 Admission Arrangements)

Can a child be registered at more than one kindergarten (e.g. holding a place in To Kwa Wan K1 while registering elsewhere)?
No. The EDB issues one “Registration Certificate” per eligible child. If you have already secured a K1 place in one kindergarten (e.g. To Kwa Wan), you must retrieve the certificate from the first school before registering at another.

If a child is already registered or enrolled in a kindergarten but needs to move and transfer to a To Kwa Wan K1 class, how can parents find out if there are places available?
Parents can check the K1 Admission Arrangements, go to the “Vacancy Information” section, and select Kowloon City District. Available places are marked with “Y”, while “N” indicates full capacity. Although the exact number of vacancies isn’t listed, you can identify which schools still have K1 places. For the most up-to-date information, please contact schools directly.
(Final admission decisions are made by the individual school.)
