Our K3 Classroom
Our school has six classrooms spread across the ground and first floors. The K3 class is located in Room 101 on the ground floor.
The K3 classroom in our To Kwa Wan campus is primarily green-themed and occupies approximately 500 square feet. It is a bright and spacious learning environment with a semi-open corridor that allows good ventilation and plenty of natural sunlight. Just outside the classroom is our Multi-Interest Gallery, where children can engage in a wide variety of fun and enriching activities. This is one of the highlights of our To Kwa Wan K3 class.
Our K3 Graduation Ceremony
The graduation ceremony is one of the most distinctive and large-scale learning events for our K3 class. Even during the pandemic, while many schools in Lung Tong, Hung Hom, Ho Man Tin or To Kwa Wan considered cancelling their physical graduation ceremonies, our To Kwa Wan K3 class took a different approach — we prepared with the mindset of giving a full performance.
The children practised singing, dancing, memorising lines, stage positioning, and voice-over recordings. Through these repeated rehearsals, our K3 students gained valuable experience and training in various aspects of performance and teamwork.
Daily Mandarin Opportunities
Our students have daily opportunities to speak and practise Mandarin.
Trilingual Exposure with English Lessons
Three days a week, our K3 children enjoy classes with native English-speaking teachers. Since the 2021–2022 academic year, local English teachers have also joined in to provide co-teaching sessions, creating a rich and supportive bilingual learning experience.
Enrolment Information
We welcome applications for K3 admissions throughout the school year. Children from outside To Kwa Wan are also eligible to apply for our K3 class. Parents are welcome to call us at 2711 2463 for enquiries or to book a school visit.
Useful Information for Parents
- Can children transfer to a different school at K3? Will it affect primary school admission?
Yes, children can transfer schools at the K3 level. Transferring does not have any specific impact on primary school admission. If your child wishes to transfer to a K3 class in To Kwa Wan, the Kindergarten Section of Ming Kwong College welcomes you to apply. Please contact us for more details or to arrange a visit. - What is the transfer process like? Are there things to note when transferring to a K3 class?
If both the current and new kindergartens are under the Kindergarten Education Scheme, the general process is as follows:
Apply and attend an interview at the new school.
Once accepted, notify the current school and submit a written notice of withdrawal (usually one month in advance).
Apply to the EDB for a provisional registration letter for the new school, and proceed to purchase the uniform, school bag, and textbooks.
On your child’s last school day, collect the original registration certificate and submit it to the new school on or before their first day.
For EDB-registered schools, the original K1 registration certificate (collected at the time of admission) will be returned. If transferring to a private kindergarten, the certificate is not required. However, if your child is transferring from a private school to a scheme-kindergarten, you must apply for a registration certificate from the EDB.
- Does attending a K3 class in To Kwa Wan increase the chances of getting into a primary school in the same area (Net 34)?
Currently, Primary One admission can be obtained via Direct Admission to private or international schools, or through the Central Allocation System, which includes “Discretionary Places” and “Central Allocation”. Neither method considers which kindergarten the child attends.
While attending a kindergarten in To Kwa Wan does not directly influence the allocation outcome, some parents might still choose to transfer their children into To Kwa Wan kindergartens (including Lung Tong and Ho Man Tin) — either during K3 or even as early as K1 — in hopes of strengthening their children’s connection to Net 34 schools.
In reality, the most crucial factor in school placement is the family’s residential address. Under the “neighbourhood school” principle, the EDB will assign schools in the same school net as your home address. For this reason, some families even choose to move into the Net 34 area before their child starts kindergarten in order to improve their chances at primary school admission.
