Grade: K1–K3
Objectives:
To enable children and parents to learn about and engage in Chinese culture during the Mid-Autumn Festival through the Parent-Child Eco-Friendly Lantern Design Competition.
Activity Outline:
- Eco-friendly lantern design: Encourage children and parents to use recycled bottles, scrap paper, and other materials to spark creativity, turning waste into unique art lanterns together. This not only hones hands-on skills and imagination, but also fosters green environmental awareness and the joy of parent-child teamwork from an early age.
- Decorating the campus with lanterns: Hang the hand-crafted eco-lanterns along school corridors and event areas to create a warm, festive atmosphere. As children admire their own and their peers’ creations, they gain a tangible sense of achievement in beautifying their environment, filling the campus with laughter and artistic flair.
- Awarding Prizes: Hold a grand award ceremony to honor every child’s dedication and unique work. Recognition through certificates not only boosts children’s self-confidence, but also allows them to celebrate the festival with a profound sense of pride.
