Visit to the Hong Kong Museum of History

Activity Objectives

  • Through exploring and engaging with the special thematic exhibition series “Polyhedral Hong Kong”, children will gain an understanding of the Hong Kong National Security Law, local community development, and the history of the Dongjiang water supply to Hong Kong. This experience aims to provide them with a broader perspective on Hong Kong’s unique urban development context and the key factors contributing to its success.

Activity Overview

  • To enhance children’s understanding of local history and national development, the school organised a visit to the Hong Kong Museum of History to explore the special thematic exhibition series “Polyhedral Hong Kong”.
  • Explore & Experience: The children visited the Yau Tsim Mong exhibition zone to deepen their understanding of local community development. They also experienced national technological achievements by watching the 3D film Great Construction of the Nation and viewing rocket models.
  • Cognition & Learning: Through guided tours, the children learned about the Hong Kong National Security Law and the history of the Dongjiang water supply to Hong Kong, gaining a more comprehensive understanding of Hong Kong’s unique urban context and its key success factors.

Through hands-on experiences and multi-sensory learning, this visit not only broadened the children’s horizons but also fostered a stronger sense of belonging to their community and the country.
